Celebrity Q&A: Liv Tyler's bizarre childhood
Sun SentinelLiv Tyler's bizarre childhood
Liv Tyler is always poised and in control -- so different from her parents, rocker Steven Tyler and former Playboy playmate Bebe Buell. How come?
According to 26-year-old Liv, it was because of her parents' wild lives -- "I knew they were doing drugs and having affairs" -- that she opted for a more normal existence. "When my mother was struggling, I would stay with my grandparents and see how regular folks lived," she recalls. "All I wanted as a little girl was to have a family and children, with lots of animals around me."
Even by the standards of the '80s music scene, Tyler's childhood was bizarre. She grew up thinking that rock star Todd Rundgren, one of her mother's lovers -- others included David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Rod Stewart -- was her dad, then learned at 11 that Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler was her biological father. Now, with her success in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Liv is in a position to start making those childhood dreams come true. Last March, she married musician Royston Langdon.
Professionally, the actress seems to have an affinity for the Affleck brothers. In March, she costars with Ben Affleck in Jersey Girl, and next month she will start filming a new comedy, Lonesome Jim, with Ben's younger brother, Casey.
